Data Accuracy

Checked against Korea's official visa manuals

Korean visa rules change without warning. See where our visa information comes from, how we check it against the official manuals, and its limits.

Our commitment

We check the visa information on this site against the official visa manuals HiKorea publishes, and correct the site when a manual changes. K-VISA AI reads those same manuals.

Where we get our data

Every piece of visa information on this site — and inside K-VISA AI — is sourced directly from official Korean government portals. No third-party aggregators, verified against official sources only.

HiKorea (출입국·외국인정책본부)

www.hikorea.go.kr

Korea Immigration Service's official foreign resident portal — visa categories, eligibility rules, and required documents.

Ministry of Justice (법무부)

www.moj.go.kr

Top-level immigration policy announcements, regulatory updates, and enforcement notices.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (외교부)

www.mofa.go.kr

Visa-exempt country lists, diplomatic visa rules, and travel advisories.

Ministry of Employment and Labor (고용노동부)

www.moel.go.kr

Work visa quotas, EPS (E-9) programs, and H-2 working holiday policy changes.

Ministry of Education (교육부)

www.moe.go.kr

Student visa (D-2, D-4) regulations and university enrollment requirements.

How we stay current

New manual editions

When HiKorea publishes a new edition of its visa manuals, we go through its list of changes and update the pages it affects.

Page-by-page checks

We compare our visa pages with the manual text, visa type by visa type.

Corrections

When a check finds an error, we fix the page and the other pages that repeat it.

K-VISA AI knowledge updates

K-VISA AI answers from the same HiKorea manuals. When we install a new edition, we load it into K-VISA AI as well.

What this doesn't cover

We're committed to accuracy — but there are things no static database can reliably capture.

  • Processing times — official figures only; actual timelines vary by consulate, staffing, and application volume
  • Officer discretion — individual immigration officers may interpret rules differently; this reflects policy, not individual outcomes
  • Application status — we cannot track the status of your specific pending application
  • Consulate-specific requirements — some overseas consulates add documents not published by Korean central ministries
  • This is guidance, not legal advice — for binding decisions, consult a licensed Korean 행정사

See it in action

Ask K-VISA AI any question about Korean visas — it answers from the same official manuals this site is checked against.
